The National Center for Disease Prevention and Control-Department of Health, in collaboration with the Newborn Screening Reference Center-National Institutes of Health, conducted a Consultative Planning Workshop on Newborn Screening on October 3 and 4 at Kimberly Hotel Manila.

 

The activity aimed to form a collective strategy for strengthening and expanding the reach of NBS while developing new initiatives in institutionalizing the NBS system in public health care. It also provided participants updates on the proposed Expanded Newborn Screening.

 

Present during the workshop were Newborn Screening Centers’ unit heads and program managers, and Centers for Health Development medical and nurse coordinators.
