NBS Foundation | Newborn Screening Reference Center

Promote and sustain the Philippine NBS Program aimed generally at preventing mental health and death.
Undertake and support researches & related activities on NBS developments.
Provide assistance to study groups organized primarily for the early detection & correction of inherited metabolic disorders & congenital anomalies.
Document & preserve data on NBS and birth defects through statistical bank and registries.
Develop and conduct training programs/workshops to help promote and sustain the NBS Program for: health care professionals (medical and allied medical), and families and general public.
Develop, produce, publish and sell educational materials (for mainstream and digital media) that will sustain the promotion of the Philippine NBS program.
Raise fund for the implementation and documentation of the programs and data aimed at preventing mental retardation and death.

Newborn Screening TVUP Series. Season 2 of the Newborn Screening in Focus is now out. A total of 52 episodes on newborn screening is expected to be produced in coordination with the Newborn Screening Reference Center and the UP Open University. The episodes will feature discussion about disorders, how it’s being treated and managed with experts and parents.
