On November 13–14, 2025, the CHD IV-A Newborn Screening conducted a strategic planning activity in Pansol, Laguna, which aimed to establish a clear and actionable roadmap to guide newborn screening program implementation. Program leaders discussed how to ensure that every newborn—regardless of geographic location or socioeconomic status—has equitable access to timely, high-quality, and sustainable newborn screening services.

Ms. Ma. Elouisa Reyes, from the Newborn Screening Reference Center, together with the CALABARZON Continuity Clinic follow-up heads and nurses and representatives from the Newborn Screening Center–Southern Luzon, participated in the activity. Their involvement provided valuable insights, surfaced key concerns, and contributed to the development of concrete action plans aligned with national and regional health goals. The collaborative efforts are expected to further strengthen service delivery and improve outcomes for newborns diagnosed with confirmed congenital disorders.
