7th Newborn Screening Center Opens in Mandaue City
The Newborn Screening Center-Central Visayas (NSC-CV) is the seventh (7th) newborn screening center in the Philippines accredited by the Department of Health (DOH). The NSC-CV is hosted by Eversley Childs Sanitarium and General Hospital, a Level 2 DOH-Retained hospital, in Barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City, Cebu. The NSC-CV started its operations on February 10, 2020. The center is offering newborn screening testing for the Expanded Newborn Screening Panel of Disorders in Region VII Central Visayas.
NSC-CV is headed by Dr. Alberto Y. Solis, FPPS, with Dr. Jean S. Balabat as the Follow-up Head, Ms. Jean P. Cabahug, RMT as the Laboratory Manager and Ms. Ivy Julyn S. Conde, RN, MAN as the Program Manager.
