In recognition of the outstanding efforts in the implementation of the newborn screening program, the DOH CHD CALABARZON, in partnership with the Newborn Screening Center – Southern Luzon, conducted the 4th Newborn Screening Awarding Ceremony last June 5, 2025 at Crimson Hotel, Filinvest Alabang, Muntinlupa.
The ceremony opened with a welcome message from Health Program Support Division Chief Dr. Felices Emerita P. Perez. Distinguished keynote speeches were delivered by Dr. Clementine A. Bautista, Acting Senior Vice President of PhilHealth, and Dr. Michelle E. Abadingo, Director of the Newborn Screening Reference Center.
Covering achievements from 2022 to 2024, the event recognized 104 registered newborn screening facilities across the region for their outstanding commitment to delivering life-saving screening services. Special awards were also given to exceptional Local Government Units (LGUs), GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc., ABS-CBN TV Patrol Lingkod Kapamilya, and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Offices (PSWDOs) of CALABARZON for their invaluable contribution to the region’s newborn screening efforts.
The ceremony underscored the importance of collaboration in strengthening newborn screening and ensuring that every Filipino family has access to quality, equitable health services.
